Nevada has one of the lowest overall tax burdens out of all of the states in the country.
CA is pretty much at the opposite end of the spectrum. Another state tax increase was passed in the fall of 2012 in CA just before I left. The state tax increase officially made CA the state with the highest state income tax in the union.
