  9. John19182004 says:

think about it. “the well-known sound of his departing horse” What would the punctuation mark and sound be after that? *that* is the joke..

  13. omarnug says:

Because “the sound of his departing horse” was all she heard… Only that.

  14. Unbihexium says:

This is humorous in a double sense: it is a funny performance, as well as an artistic meditation on a problem of a practical philosophy of language.

  15. DisneyMagicDreamer85 says:

Thumbs up to me please; I’m going to perform this whole sequence for a speech class tomorrow!

  16. MrBigYum says:

  17. MrBigYum says:

OH, I GET IT: “THE WELL KNOWN SOUND OF HIS DEPARTING HORSE.” HE’S SUPPOSED TO BE A PLAYBOY–A DON WON–LOVE ‘EM AND LEAVE ‘EM KINDA CAT.

AND THOSE CRAZY PUNCTUATION MARKS ARE MEANT TO DEPICT WHAT YOU CAN’T SAY FOR ETTEQUITE’S SAKE–KIND OF LIKE A DOUBLE ENTUNDRA. HAAA!

  18. ClassicMusic95 says:

He actually duffs the first two minutes and then takes off, but its damn impressive how he handles the dead period without panicing, just pure class.

  35. flowerofsilver says:

    Victor Borge, you are missed!

  36. polkadotpants says:

I’d have loved to see him live in his lifetime, both for his skill playing and the comedy; I wish there was more singing in this video though – I was eager to hear Marilyn.
I only found this searching for my ancestry, me and Marilyn share the same surname, my late grandad was a pianist and I’m an amateur opera singer, cool coincidences lol

  37. MichaelHansenFUN says:

i saw him in concert when he was 90 and 91 years old. this is on here elsewhere with Marilyn Mulvey but some posters are so stupid they dont realise this is STAGED. They think she is putting up with this…but this is all rehersed and staged. Also he has used her as a stooge before, but she looked waaaaaayyyyyy different. Same Song, different hairstyle.

  38. magicmonkichi says:

Hahahah. That’s the best runnin gag. (and best advice lol.) xD

  39. showjumper5280 says:

    Hands off, please.

  40. wenglishsal says:

… With regards to ‘getting used to something and not laughing at it’, I must an exception then, because lots of things I watch STILL make me laugh my socks off.. Victor Borge doing just about anything, Norman Wisdom, The Muppets, Carry-On films, Jim Carrey in Mask, and of course lots of lovely PIXAR films too..

Maybe my funny bone just like the excercise.. Whatever the reason I LOVE TO LAUGH, it’s very good for you too i believe.. Best regards from Sunny Wales today :0)x
