Victor Borge (3 January 1909 – 23 December 2000) born Børge Rosenbaum, was a Danish comedian, conductor and pianist, affectionately known as The Clown Prince of Denmark, The Unmelancholy Dane, and The Great Dane.
My English teacher showed me this in class today ptt RONFLMAO XD
It’s “Phonetic Punctuation” not “Pronunciation” :)
@rominato: There was this comedian, the main character in some movie whose name I forget. He makes these hilarious speeches and has everyone laughing their heads off. All except one guy sitting right in front. This guy doesn’t show the slightest reaction; just a completely still, expressionless face. Our comedian takes a long look at him and then declares, “This man is dead, but he doesn’t know it”. The audience goes wild.
Same case here. These guys are dead but they don’t know it.
I can’t understand how people wouldn’t find this funny. I guess I feel bad for those who don’t get it.
“Ptt ptt ptt ptt ptt ptt ptt…. *counts dots* ptt.”
I love that part XD
Haha how creative!
PBS sent me here…watched something on him Wednesday 🙂
@arrisfilms Did your journey perchance go via the late great Dudley Moore? *kkhkhkhkk pbfut*
@icekat83 Your so right.
@MrRWJP for an American maybe
anyone else here ’cause of cakewrecks?
btw, this is really funny, Victor can pull this off without seeming silly
I love that
LOL
My language arts teacher sent me 😀
My language arts teacher sent me here. ;p
Regretsy comments sent me here 😀
huh >>>>> we have almost same way in Jordan<<<<
One of the funniest, (and most talented) men who ever lived!
he sounds like the Professor from Mickey Mouse
thanks for share!
I absolutely love this humor… I laugh so hard!
@56mikale Except for the fact that’s he’s not British. He’s Danish… Does ‘Borge’ really sound like a British surname?
You are stupid…
It’s a brittish downy making retard noises… Not funny-_-
@ldominic its funny because of the sexual connotation of the period noise 😀
@ldominic
It’s funny because it is. There is something humorous about the way it breaks things up, about the unexpectedness of it from our regular speech. And sometimes, things are just funny because they are funny.
30 people clearly have no sense of humour.
That’s also his son, Ronald Borge.
Poor “lights caller” lol.
To Raven001. The first part of “Funny jokes” Victor tells how he have learnd to speek japanesse, while he was sleeping…you need to see this to get the point. I hope you can find that part, it is so funny. I hope this will help you and you understand what I am writing, I am not good at English, I am Danish. Just like Victor was. I just read a book about him, funny and sad at the same time. He was a genius, the best pianoplayer in the world. Listen him playing “Clare de lune”…
@Tonkeliponkeli He is basically saying that instead of saying 2 negi, or Ni Negi, or the Japanese equivelent of 2 onions, that negi negi would be 2 onions instead of it meaning what it does, which is onion onion.
@Raven001 I know what negi negi means but I still don’t get the joke… either I’m dumb or I have missed something. At least there are lots of Borge videos to cheer my day, every day.
@Tonkeliponkeli earlier he said that negi means onion, so negi negi means two onions
This young man was usually his son.
@blizzardoakenshield Indeed…I was watching a little hour special on PBS (lol) and it showed him (his son, cannot remember his name but it said his name and under it “Borge’s son” so ya)..
@dc619 looks a lot like him so i am not surprised!!! 😀
we lost a great musician and great comedian when he passed away!!!!!!!
Borge’s grabbing hie tie, and he mixes the songs up! XDDDD
I do blubs
I watched the other video, I stil don’t get “negi negi” but it sounds so funny that I laughed…
i cant breath hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don’t know if anybody knew, but thats Borge’s son 🙂
@Turbo5Turtle Tim Minchin rips off every great comedian there has ever been. Sorry sir you have taste in hacks 😛
3:52
My favorite part XD
If he were still alive today, and he were playing this fair city, I’d RUN to buy tickets. Talented comic… EXTREMELY talented musician… underrated in my book.
38 people don’t know what real comedy is. I loved every second of this!
Absolutely hilarious stuff! Igudesman & Joo are also pretty darn funny but Victor Borge will always be the best!
1980’s = Vcitor Borge
2011 = Tim Minchin
i heard that the page turner is his son?
Worth every second
@MrCzecher lol I just realized I spelled that wrong. Everyone knew what I meant, but just for the record, I meant “foul” haha I guess it kinda goes with the “laying eggs” joke
